Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Montessori education and our school.

A Montessori school is different in some very fundamental ways:

• Children learn by doing: Each classroom is meticulously designed for optimal learning with developmentally appropriate materials and aesthetically pleasing arrangements.

• Children learn at their pace: Students joyfully learn at their own pace, making choices that are right for them with teacher support and guidance.

• Children see connections: Our integrated curriculum helps students understand how various subjects are connected.

• Children collaborate: Multi-age classrooms support collaborative learning where children learn from teachers and each other.

• Children are responsible: Autonomy and freedom are balanced with responsibility, preparing students for active community participation.

• Children are peaceful: Students learn to interact with respect, compassion and kindness toward creating a more peaceful world.

The Montessori method was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, Italy’s first female physician, in the early 1900s. Her scientific approach to education was based on careful observation of children and their natural learning processes.
Our director and lead teachers hold internationally recognized Montessori certificates from Association Montessori International (AMI). Additional staff members support our vision of creating environments that aid children’s development.
Montessori is ‘freedom within limits.’ Children choose from carefully prepared activities that meet their developmental needs. The environment itself provides structure and guidance while allowing for individual choice and exploration.
Yes, the Montessori approach naturally accommodates different learning styles and abilities. We also offer a specialized Special Education (SE) program designed to meet diverse learning needs.
